疾患関連タンパク質がどのように異常構造を形成し、病態と結びつくのかを分子レベルで理解することを目指しています。現在は、銅・亜鉛スーパーオキシドディスムターゼ(SOD1)のX線結晶構造解析およびクライオ電子顕微鏡単粒子解析を進め、試料調製から構造決定・解釈までを自律的に遂行できる研究力を磨いています。タンパク質構造解析による研究成果を、医学・生命科学の発展へとつなげることを目指しています。

My research aims to understand, at the molecular level, how disease-related proteins form abnormal conformations and how these structures are linked to pathology. I currently study copper/zinc superoxide dismutase (SOD1) using X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy single-particle analysis, while developing the ability to independently carry out research from sample preparation to structure determination and interpretation. I aim to connect research findings from protein structural analysis to advances in medicine and life sciences.
Structural information on antibody-stabilized SOD1 complexes has been deposited in the PDB and EMDB.
